Shadows Of Anointing

AUTHOR INTRODUCTION
On a quite afternoon, stood a young man peering into a storefront window, wondering how those keyboard pianos would sound that he had his eyes on. The curious young man pulled himself into the store and sat down in front of a three thousand dollar keyboard. It had all the neat programs, buttons and sounds. As he played his favorite song for about two minutes, he abruptly stopped, got up an went to a two thousand dollar keyboard. It wasn’t as fancy as the first, but it did have some fun stuff to play with.

Escaping The Lions Grip

AUTHOR INTRODUCTION
Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns. (Psalms 22:21)

On a warm, dry afternoon on the backside of the wilderness near an opening of a shepherd’s field, there were some sheep feeding on some scarce grass left over from a drought. Some of the tired and hungry sheep were discontent and began to wander into the open field next to a bushy area of the wilderness.

Blindly, one of the hungry lambs was led away from it’s safe haven that the Shepherd had provided. Walking towards a greener patch of grass; when all of a sudden a lion roars and dashes out and grips the lamb with his teeth by the neck and begins to squeeze it to death. The lion, in his ferocious fury shakes the lamb as it cries for help.

Led By A Gentle Breeze

AUTHOR INTRODUCTION
On a warm quiet day as I sat alone admiring the evening sunset, my heart and mind was silently feeling after the Lord’s presence. A slight breeze began to brush up against my face that added to the peaceful moment. As the breeze turned into a brisk wind, I noticed the treetops moving in a spontaneous dance of unity as the wind whirled through the leaves. I could hear and see what the wind was doing, but I didn’t know where the wind came from or where it was going. As I was meditating on the Lord during this breezy sunset, my spirit increasingly became aware of God’s gentle presence; it seemed to happen so quickly. And just like the breeze, I could feel Him so strongly.

Many a times it seems that we are touched by the spontaneous breeze of His presence, totally amazed on how easy it was to feel Him. Without any effort, the tears freely run down our face as we weep in His presence. Other times we seem to complicate our times with God by trying to force our way into His presence. We pace back and forth and repeat the same words over and over while we pray.

A Prophets Destiny

AUTHOR INTRODUCTION
As Mary held that little miracle infant in her arms for the very first time, she remembers the visitation of the angel and all that was spoken to her. As she looks into the eyes of her newborn, her heart senses the special destiny that envelopes her child.

At age twelve, Jesus said something to her that was ever etched upon her heart; “…Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” (Luke 2:49). Mary got a first glimpse of this destiny and she was blessed to be a part of it. However, unknown to the people of that day, a prophet was born among them that had a destiny like no other human on the face of the earth. Yet as a zealous young boy, He thought He was ready to do His Father’s perfect will at that time.

Lord I Don’t Understand

AUTHOR INTRODUCTION
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. (Heb 13:15)

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Php 4:6-7)

A man was sitting in a chair on his lawn beholding all that God had done for him; how He provided a nice home; a nice neighborhood to live in and how blessed he was. As he sat weeping and praying he thanked God for everything God had blessed him with materially.

Jabez’ Powerful Prayer

INTRODUCTION
And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. (1 Chronicles 4:9-10)

It doesn’t matter whether you are in the church or not… everyone wants to be blessed materially, emotionally and physically. But for the person who does not know God, it can be a hard thing to obtain. However, the child of God has been ushered into an overflowing river of promises that God is wanting to pour out on his children… if they just ask Him. Why is it that some seem to come short of it. How come some are mightly blessed of God and some are not? The answers may vary, but hopefully this study on Jabez’ prayer may answer these questions for you.

The Form Of A Servant

INTRODUCTION
If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (Phil 2:1-9)

The greatest desire God has is to seek and save that which was lost. The second, is to see his people fulfill the royal law… “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Outside of “loving the Lord with all thine heart and mind”, there is no greater commandment then to love thy neighbor as yourself. All the law and prophets hang on these two commandments.

Living With Wandering Captives

INTRODUCTION
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. (Rev 2:7)

As I look back over the twenty five plus years that I have been living for God, I have observed many wonderful things such as; the harvest of souls, signs, wonders and growth. These things are happening everywhere, right now in our world, in our lifetime!

However, it pains my heart to have to talk about an issue that is all to real. While revival is happening in some churches there is also a sad reality. Some of God’s people live among “wandering captives” of unbelief, programs and dry services.

The Caged Up Spirit

INTRODUCTION
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (Isa 61:1)

During a family get-together just for all the ladies in early 2001, my wife was given a candle in a small cage (pictured left).

When I saw it on our counter the next morning, as I intently looked at it, all I could see was a spiritual picture of someone who’s spirit is trapped in a cage. I couldn’t figure out why I was seeing this, but I took note of it.

Laying On Of Hands

INTRODUCTION
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit. (Heb 6:1-3)

I have been in the church for over 25 years now, and I have not heard a lot of studies done on the subject of “laying on of hands.”

So I decided to do one just to see what I would come up with. After doing this study, I had a better sense of why we should do this more often. We may be surprised what we are transferring to others when we lay hands on them and pray!
