Blessings Of Doctrine

INTRODUCTION

Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. (1 Tim 4:13-16)

Over the years I have observed a movement among the “religious world” that says, “Doctrine divides; we all need to just love and accept one another; we are all brothers and sisters in the Lord.”

The Anointed Fast

INTRODUCTION
Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisee fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. (Matthew 9:14-15)

There is something about fasting that our flesh just does not like. We often try to obtain things from God without fasting. The question all of us must answer is… do we have to fast? The answer is YES, if you want to be successful in God!

Prayer and fasting should not be an option. It is a must if you want to get anything from God that is worth while. There are some things that will only happen after you have fasted and prayed. If fasting is not done, then strongholds can not come down. Here are a few keys in this powerful tool of fasting.

Substance Abuse

When most people get started drinking or doing drugs, they most likely started it to fit in, to have fun or to be cool. There are some who struggle with substance abuse because of sadness or tragedy in their lives. They had no idea that they would become dependant on it down the road.

We often think of substance abuse as sin in-of-itself alone, but there is a greater problem that underlines addiction. Alcohol and drugs are not the problem people are dealing with, this is just an outer manifestation of internal conflict and/or sin.

Everyday thousands upon thousands of people drink or do drugs to try and erase the hurt, pain and sadness they feel. Even those who party and seem to be having so much fun do it because they are empty inside. Each person who becomes addicted to some form of substance has become a casualty to the emptiness and pain that sin has inflicted in their lives.

The Born Again Experience

Our Need Of Salvation

When Adam and Eve fell from the temptation of sin in the garden of Eden, sin entered the world. God had to bring judgement on sin and separate sin from Himself. Even today we are born with a sinful nature and separated from God spiritually. We are all born into sin automatically at birth because of their fall.

Sin is the transgression of the commandments of God. Sin brings emotional, physical and spiritual problems to the lives of men and women today. The wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23).

When Jesus came to this earth, He brought the gospel (good news) of eternal life through His death, burial and resurrection. When Jesus started His earthly ministry He taught repentance saying…

Is Eternal Security Secure?

Introduction

In today’s world, people are looking for something that they can believe in: something that is sure, steadfast and unmovable. Many people turn to faith in God for hope and stability, and rightfully so. For God is the only stable endeavor that a person can get involved in.

Though it is true that God is the only perfect and stable one, unfortunately people who claim to be followers of God are not always stable in their teachings. Many “religious” people make up doctrines that only appeal to man’s tradition and philosophy. The danger with that is that people’s faith is founded in un-truths, which can jeopardize a person’s eternal destination. Thus the topic of eternal security becomes a major concern.

Called Into The Ministry

INTRODUCTION
1 Timothy it says, “This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.”

Anyone who desires to go into the Ministry, desires a good work. You are desiring the heartbeat of Jesus Christ, and that is to see men and women saved by the power of the gospel.

I will not go into everything here, however in this article I will discuss some of the things to consider when praying and making sure that one is truely called into the ministry. The ministry is a very serious aspect of God’s devine order and should not be taken lightly.

The Price Of A Pierce

Author Introduction
…They shall look on him whom they pierced. (John 19:31-37)

The death of Jesus has got to be the most powerful event that anyone has ever witnessed. Yet, when we read the scriptures of that event, we can not help but feel overwhelmed by the people who put him to death.

How could they willingly put a just man to death? What role did the people really play on that day? What made the soldier think of piercing Jesus in the side?

As you read this story, please take into consideration that there is no way I can accurately describe the people or events surrounding that horrible day at Calvary. However, please allow me to use a little of my imagination to try and put it into perspective, for mankind hasn’t changed. So I will do my best to capture their human reactions preceding and leading up to His death.

Dear Friend, I Am Sorry

To whom it may concern,

Dear Friend, first and foremost, I would like to apologize for the mistakes that I have made with you. I am very sorry for not being the person that I claimed to be. I also want to apologize to you for the mistakes that we as “Christians” make.

This special apology is not to justify our actions, but to sincerely acknowledge that we have human flaws even though we claim to be a “Christian.” I hope this special apology will help you to understand that only God is perfect and that we are not.

Before I ever became a “Christian,” I had this idea in my head that “Christians” are suppose to be perfect like God and should never do bad things. And you will find that to be the case with most people in the world, they feel the same way.

However, when I started reading the Bible on a regular basis, I found that concept of perfect people (who claim to serve God) a misconception. The reason is because in scripture there was not one perfect human except Jesus Christ. There are many great men throughout biblical history who made major mistakes and sinned against God and man. Here are just a few…

Special Letter To You

To whom it may concern,

This a very special letter that I am writing to you. I have been burdened for you since the day you were born and I hope that this letter will show you how much I love you.

I see the pain you have been through, though you try so hard to cover it with pleasures of this life. I have seen the lonely days that you have wondered, “Is there something better than this?” I have seen the nights you have laid on your bed with guilt from your past seems to never go away.

I have felt rejection like you have, so I know what you feel.

Consider my life! I was born without a natural father. My friends use to tease me because I was a smart kid in school. My stepfather didn’t quite understand me.
