Jesus And The Resurrection Museum

April 4, 2010

Well, it's Easter time across the globe and millions of people go to an Easter service somewhere.on that day. They get all dressed up with their new "Easter" outfits, head off to church and then come home to a big meal.

The truth of the matter is, many observe Easter as if they are going to a Museum. They go to a service and watch a drama or hear a resurrection sermon. They mentally take Jesus out the Bible, look at His life, death and resurrection and turn it all around handle it like it is an exhibit in a museum. They look it over and say "Wow, what an event!"

Some cry, some rejoice and some feel nothing. Then after all the "Easter" festivities are over... they put him back in the tomb (exhibit case) and go on with their life. Most never return to church until next year. Even some "Christians" put Jesus back in the tomb and go on to live their lives not really visiting Calvary or the resurrection of Jesus until next year.

Why do some put Jesus back in the tomb and forget about Him? The way it should really be is that we should live our lives thinking and visiting Calvary and the tomb on a regular basis... not just once a year!

Celebrating Jesus's resurrection is fine, but is He alive in our souls? Does that resurrection power live inside of us? Did His death, burial and resurrection change us? Or... are we just going to visit His museum, reminisce and go our way?

Maybe we should stay at the "Museum" until His death, burial and resurrection really means something to us even to the point of changing us!

Man... Why Was I Born With This Nature?

February 19, 2010

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Rom 5:12)

I know, I know; you can blame Adam and Eve for all the sin and problems in the world!! However, we still have to wake up and contend with this sinful nature that we inherited when we were born. This nature doesn't always want to do right. As a matter of fact, scripture says that this carnal nature is an enemy towards God. It doesn't want to serve God.

That is why we need God's help everyday, every hour! Because you never know which hour a trial may take you by surprise and then you may find yourself making a mistake. A mistake can be costly not only to you but others that are effected by your error.

What did Paul say concerning this struggle in Romans 7? (For there is a struggle from time to time!)

O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. (Rom 7:24-25)

Jesus Made All Things... Even The Devil!

February 3, 2010

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Col 1:15-16)

Hmm... What I am about to say is not a discourse on the deity of Christ. We all know that God dwelt in the body of Jesus! But, really looking at this scripture puts Jesus in the seat of the Father perfectly, because HE CREATED everything!! Jesus, CREATED all powers and principalities FOR HIMSELF; even the devil and his angels!!!

I hear some say that they don't want to talk about the devil, just God. However, how can you talk about the kingdom of God and not talk about the devil? The devil is a real force that was created by Jesus! And Jesus uses the kindgom of satan to show his Glory!! God even allows the devil to come against us! Jesus defeated him so that we can defeat him too!

We are not ignorant of his devices. He is smart, subtle, deceptive and wants to kill you spiritually!!! Yet, in all of our struggles, if we look to Jesus, He will help us triumpth against him through our Faith! That is how we overcome the world and the wicked one... ONLY THROUGH JESUS!!

New Years Resolutions - Perfecting Of The Flesh?

January 1, 2010

In scripture, Paul addressed a mind set with the Galatian saints on how they were perfecting themselves saying; Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? (Gal 3:3)

I understand in the context, that Paul is addressing trying to perfect themselves by being justified by the Law. However, the principle still applies to us today. We can use the scriptures, self-help methods or just try to make up our mind to try and change some problems or lack of discipline we may have. But... it RARLEY EVER WORKS!

Some may not agree with these points. But, everyone does realize that these "resolutions" are a feeble attempt to change ones own self. So, why do we try? Yea, our heart may be in the right place, but trying to change yourself is very hard.

I for one, never make any New Year Resolutions at all because I know that trying to change "issues" without God is impossible. Some things only come by prayer and fasting and trying to perfect yourself can cause spiritual problems. It is only through God's sanctification process that we can truly change our frailty. New Year Resolutions are just the worlds attempt to become better... but only God can make us better.

Think about this... Is keeping New Year Resolutions bordering on self righteousness? Do we think that we can change things without God? And why do we try to change ourselves anyway? Didn't we come to God to have Him help us change?

If a person truly is born again... then just follow this scripture to have God help you change... For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Rom 8:13-14)

Pillow Prophets Are Sleeping

November 23, 2009

Over the years I have seen and heard many preachers skirt around real serious issues that affect sheep (saints of God). Yet, so many of these issues are not addressed. I fully respect the ministry, but it seems that they fail to "Feed" the church and help them find deliverance from major problems in their lives.

Acts 2:38 is being preached, people are being saved, and that is wonderful! But, are the "ninety and nine" sheep being neglected and end up dieing because of parasites? What about the struggles they are facing? What about the devils that are devouring them?

Sheep don't need "sermons" or "bible studies" that do not help them a bit. What about issues such as marriage, lust, divorce, hatred, materialism, discouragement, unfulfilled dreams and such like... these things are killing sheep! Sheep need to hear deep, clear instructions on how to overcome their issues, not just "thou shall not" do such and such.

We need some anointed, on fire and compassionate prophets that are interested in feeding the sheep! We need anointed preachers to "minister" and feed the church the way it is suppose to be. Sheep need the "Balm of Gilead" applied to their wounds! We need prophets to awake from their sleep and feed the church deep soul-cleansing messages from God!
